Leo Carrillo Campground has 1.5 miles of beach for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, surf fishing and beachcombing. The beach also has tidepools, coastal caves and reefs for exploring. Giant sycamores shade the main campgrounds. The park also features back-country hiking. The campground itself is not located directly on the beach, but is an easy walk from your campsite.

The campground sites offer RV, trailer and tent camping. Some of the RV sites offer electrical hook ups. No water or sewer hook ups are available at this campground. Camping Adventures trailer models 2360, 2550, and the Toyhauler are great rental options for this campground. Camping Adventures is the only authorized trailer rental delivery service to this State Park campground.
